Hi, I'm new here. If anyone here has Facebook I have an Eddie From Ohio group.

Also, does anyone know if there's an Eddie From Ohio fanlisting?

Bandemonium Featuring Eddie From Ohio
Started a new post to try and grab more interest.

Friday May 4th at 7PM I will be hosting a 1.5 hour show of only EFO music which you can here the live webcast of at krlx.org. Oh, thats 7PM Central.

Playlist is going to be as in the PDF unless others comment on it. I am going to attempt to play Rocky Mountain High intro before Old Dominion.

Thoughts on things to comment on or changes to the playlist welcome.

Help
Hi fellow ed heads-

I am a college student and I (and EFO) have been given an honor by the college radio station. I have been given a 1.5 hour time slot on a Friday night to play EFO music in what is called a Bandemonium, a different band in the same slot every week. I was wondering if you all could provide me with some help.

1)Submission of playlists would be cool. I have access to all released albums.
2)silly question, but I have'nt been to a live concert in a while, during Old Dominion when do mountains go up and come down...
3)Daughters of Farmer Brown arm pumping comes at the end starting at "some may recall" right?

I will post exact date and web listening information in a few days...

EFO and Comedy Central
Watching Colbert last night and he used Stupid American in a skit he did with the democratic candidate from New Jersey's fourth, Carol Gay. It was about 6 seconds, long enough for me to hope for some words then fwhoop more talking...

Updates! Updates! Getcher fresh hot updates here!
Robbie's new album, Songs For Kids Like Us, is due out May 20.

Mike announced his engagement at last week's Texas shows. Congratulations to Mike and the future Mrs. Mike!

Julie is kicking cancer's ass and insulting its mother. Well-wishes, as always, to my-left-breast at hotmail.com

Eddie got a haircut.

As a Californian, I am always interested in the doings of EFO out here on the Best Coast. Looks like the fall tour is shaping up in a hurry! Keep an eye on the band's tour date page.

This ought to please you Seattlelites in the community: TWO NIGHTS at the Triple Door this fall! gyesika really liked the Triple Door.

Other dates so far include a grand return to that Santa Cruz fave, the Kuumbwa Jazz Center; and--and you San Francisco Bay Area types may wish to sit down for this--TWO SHOWS at the Freight & Salvage, Berkeley's mostest awesomest folk venue! EFO haven't played the Freight in a while; this should be really good.

music this july in Seattle area
Hi, fellow EFO fans. How's it going?

I'm a New Yorker and an acoustic music fan. I've just taken a summer job in Tacoma, WA, and I'm looking for advice from people familiar with the area (it's not far from Seattle, so info about Seattle counts, too). My biggest questions are twofold: can you point me in the direction of cool local acoustic music venues, and can you recommend some local singer/songwriters whose music I might be into?

Obviously, I'm looking for artists in the tradition of Ani. For reference, I'm also interested in the Indigo Girls, Dar Williams, Ani DiFranco, Gregory Douglass, Girlyman, We're About 9, Robbie Schaefer, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Austin Willacy, Mieka Pauley, Richard Shindell, Tracy Chapman... you get the idea...

Thanks for the advice. Sorry for cross-posting.
-- Marisa

PS: Does anyone know when the 7/2 Indigo Girls tickets go on sale?

New Robbie CD planned for Spring '06
Double-checking my links on my previous entry (see below), I notice that Robbie's updated his site! The Bald One's forthcoming kids' CD, Songs For Kids Like Us, is due out in spring 2006--that's only a few months away, so now's the time to make, borrow, or steal a kid, for protective camouflage at the record store.1

Or you could order it online, or something. Bulletproof's EFO store will have it.

Rounding out the updates for the rest of the gang: Eddie continues to play with Brother Shamus, who have also set up a site on MySpace, because that's what all the kids are doing these days.

Julie is thrashing cancer's ass so badly that it was last seen, whimpering, fleeing in the direction of Jupiter. Go Julie go!

1 I do not seriously mean to suggest that there's any shame in buying stuff labeled "kids". There's plenty of stuff these days being put out ostensibly for kids that is, really, awesome for adults as well. For example, you fantasy fans will want to check out Garth Nix--why his stuff is stored in the kids' section, I really don't know, because it's plain excellent (and sophisticated) fantasy.

Mike's new CD comes out this Friday!
Everyone's favorite MC is releasing his first solo CD, 1st & 40, this Friday, Jan. 6. In an astounding coincidence, it also happens to be his 40th birthday!
Bulletproof is taking orders for the new CD. This is their managers' site, not a fly-by-night e-tailer or anything.
The formal CD release show is also this Friday, Jan. 6, at Vienna's most happening coffeehouse, Jammin' Java.
Finally, in the grand tradition of robbieschaefer.com, michaelclem.com has made its grand debut! Be sure to read Michael's interview with himself--it's hilarious.

Relocation Quandry
My wife and I have moved out to Seattle from the east coast this holiday season. We are bummed that there are no Mummers and no possibility of making Robbie's new year's eve show.

All that being said, are there other ed-heads out here enjoying the north Pacific rain? :)

BTW - This community was an awesome find! Figured the move gave me an excuse to shed my lurker status.

Julie update
Per the edheads mailing list:

Julie was in fine form at the Oct. 22 show, and gave her pipes a serious workout.

She had her first chemo session yesterday. I am reliably informed by cancer survivors that chemotherapy is not at all fun; I'm sure she'd appreciate prayers/warm thoughts/fingers crossed in her honor/etc.

Go Julie go!

Thanks & love from Julie
Heya Edheads!!!

I got an email from Julie today and thought I'd pass this message on to everyone here{thanks, Nicole for giving me instructions again...duh...guess I should post more frequently!}:

Please pass along my love to anyone that you speak with. I have gotten so many wonderful e-mails and gifts and cards from folks, but haven't been able to respond yet.

Some days are better than others, but I continue to pray a lot and ask God for perseverance!

so...yeah.....please keep her, her family, & the band in your thoughts and prayers, and thanks for all you've done thus far. she still has more to go through.

thanks

~Shells~

Contacting Julie
Julie has set up a Hotmail account for well-wishers: my-left-breast@hotmail.com (her idea!)

For physical cards, I suggest using the band's P.O. box:

She'll be OK, I'm sure of it. *nodnodnod*

EDIT: I just got the email from the band about why the shows were cancelled. I can definitely understand, and am certainly not the least bit annoyed.

Anyway, for those who aren't on the mailing list, they've just announced that Julie has breast cancer. I can't believe it. Anyone interested in pooling together and sending a care package/truckload of get-well notes/cards? Please note, I'm all for it, but I'm not the best to organize it, as I am bad at putting things in the mail. But we should do something.

Attention Pacific Coasters! Fall tour shaping up
So far:
Fri. 9/30 Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse Berkeley, CA
Sat. 10/1 McCabe's Guitar Shop Santa Monica, CA
Sun. 10/2 Lestat's Coffee Normal Heights (part of San Diego), CA

I will eat my hat if they don't drop by the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz; given the logistics of the tour, I'm thinking Thurs. 9/29 would be a likely date for that.

Working from this assumption, the PNW portion of the tour (if there is to be one) would likely fall the weekend before: Sept. 24 or 25 in Seattle, perhaps an intraweek stop in Portland.

First Entry
Spent the day Saturday at the Festival for the Eno here in Durham, NC. I've been living in Durham for almost 3 years, but have somehow managed to miss the festival every year. This year, though, EFO was playing. I've missed seeing them the last couple of times they've been in the area and couldn't pass up on a chance to go and see them. Both sets were great fun, but the second one was just amazing. Besides their newer stuff, they also did Great Day, Operator and Old Dominion, plus one of Eddie's famous drum solos. Everyone there seemed to have a great time -- and brought them back out for an encore (the Beatles "Come Together) before everyone hurried off to catch the buses back to the parking lot before the skies opened up with the rain that had been threatening for most of the concert. As it turned out, the rain held off until fans and band could all get into vehicles and get on the road.

If you're ever in the area, this is a wonderful way to spend some of the 4th of July weekend, and based on the reaction this weekend from EFO and the fans, Julie, Mike, Robbie and Eddie will all be back next year.

Urgent memo to San Francisco Bay Area denizens: EFO at the Freight TONIGHT 5/27 !
Eddie From Ohio plays The Freight & Salvage, TONIGHT!!
This should rule. The Freight is an ass-kicking venue, and EFO haven't played there for a couple of years! Everybody go!
